For the eight consecutive year, the Baltimore All Stars won their annual meeting with the US allstars 107-82 in the Charm City Challenge. Baltimore had a 49-37 lead at the half and they would not look back. Baltimore was coached by Randallstown's Kim Rivers, who had a nice reunion with former player Kimmie English, who transferred to Notre Dame Prep (MA). Kimmie led the Rams to a state Championship in 2007, and has now committed to the University of Missouri. Kim led Baltimore in scoring, netting 18 points and grabbing 3 steals. Future Maryland Terrapin Sean Mosley of St. Frances was very impressive, scoring 15 points, and recorded 6 assists and five rebounds. Douglass's Omar Strong was a big spark plug for Baltimore adding 16 points. Baltimore also had solid contributions from Severna Park's Brad Bald (7 points, 3 Rebounds) and Henry Simms (10 points, 11 Rebounds). But the Star of tonights event was Mt. Carmel's Troy Franklin. Troy had 14 points, 4 steals, 4 assists, and was 2-2 from 3pt range. Troy stole the show with tremendous ball handling, unbelievable passes, and a lot of flair. The highlight of the night was his no look alley oop pass to Henry Simms who finished with a reverse slam. Troy was named the MVP. Troy has committed to Towson, a huge get for Pat's Cats. The US was led by Dee Bost (Mississippi State) who had 17 points and 4 assists, Chris Turner (Undecided) scored 14 and Nasir Robinson (Pitt) netted 15. The game was attended by Ernie Graham, Donte Greene, Malcom Delaney, Gheorghe Muresan, Braxton Dupree and more!
