The Baltimore Sun is Reporting that Joe Flacco will be named the starter for the Ravens opening game vs. the Cincinnati Bengals. Flacco, who wasn't originally a candidate for the starting job, was able to win the position after the shoulder injury to Kyle Boller, a Tonsil infection from Troy Smith, and two Solid Preseason outings.

Let the Joe Flacco era Begin. Many fans do not want to see Joe Flacco rushed like David Carr and Kyle Boller were, but I must remind people that Peyton Manning and Ben Roethlisberger started the majority of their rookie years, and turned out just fine. With a talented and finally healthy recieving corps of Derrick Mason, Mark Clayton, Todd Heap, and Demetrius Williams, I want the best guy throwing them the ball, and that guy is Joe Flacco!

The Ravens also came to terms with Todd Bouman, this is clearly an insurance policy.
