DC got dominated. The Carolina Panthers defensive line dominated Washington's offensive line all night. They have a good one and made the 'Skins look bad. DC's QB's had to run for cover throughout the game. Jason Campbell reverted to his old habits of standing in the pocket like the Statue of Liberty when he had time to throw as well as staring down one receiver. Todd Collins had the best numbers of the group but played with second teamers. Wonder if he'd do better with the starting lineup as he did last season. If Campbell can't continually progress, the team will be in the same sub .500 hole it was in in 2007 before Collins took over and led DC to the playoffs. Jim Zorn also got away from play action passing which is the best way to buy time for the O line. They also ran the ball twenty-two times and passed thirty-seven times. Not very balanced.

Washington's defense held the Panthers to three points in the first quarter. However, they surrendered thirty-one in the second because of the offense's inability to sustain drives and thereby allow the D to catch their breath.

That said, P Derrick Frost had plenty of chances to practice punting the football and averaged 51.3 yards per. Shaun Suisham's 38 yard field goal erased the bagel.

I believe this is a sign of the times for you DC fans. Just like every year since the original Gibbs reign of power, the Skins PR has over-hyped an average team. To believe this squad will go beyond the .500 season is only setting yourself up for another disappointment. Enough of the T.Collins hype, you must be a Michigan fan! Remind me again of what he has accomplished...yeah that's right nothing. Campbell knows how to win, remember the undefeated 2004 National Champion Auburn Tigers. He is the present and future for the Skins - just deal with it.
