MASN is Reporting that Reliever Chad Bradford Will be traded to the The Tampa Bay Rays for a player to be named later. That player to be named later stuff never makes sense to me, but the Rays have a lot of young talent, so hopefully it will be a valuable asset to our farm system, In Andy We trust. Bradford, 33, is 3-3 with a 2.45 ERA in 47 games and 40.1 innings.
What a week for Rookies, After a Shutdown 8 inning 1-hit performance by Chris "Murky Inner Harbor" Waters, 27, on Tuesday, Lou Montanez, 26, hits a Home Run on the first Major League Pitch he sees. Lou finished 2-4 with a HR, Single, and 2 runs scored. Should be interesting to watch Montanez, a former First Round Pick and Futures Game Participant, in his quest to be an everyday major leaguer. Lou was leading the Eastern League in all Triple Crown Categories, and credits this years success by finally getting to be an every day player. He did pretty well with that.
Hayden Penn turned in a Good Performance on Tuesday night with Norfolk, pitching 5 Shutouts innings, striking out 3 and allowing 4 hits. Look for Hayden to get a shot soon, with Sarfate Struggling, and Daniel Cabrera facing a 6 game suspension. If I were him I would try to eat only food I prepared, avoid sidewalk cracks, look away when you see a black cat, and wish twice a day at 11:11, "No more Freak Injuries Please!"
In an interview with MLB.com, Dave Trembley expressed his doubts about the September call ups of Matt Wieters or Chris Ray. Trembley see's no reason to rush Wieters, and see's no reason to Rush the "highly competitive" Chris Ray back from Ligament Reconstruction surgery on his elbow.
