The Baltimore Business Journal is reporting that an announcement is upcoming about a 17,000-18,500 Person Arena to be constructed and the Current Site of the First Mariner Arena.
Pro's
-New Arena, it' about time
-Big Enough for a Major Pro Franchise and Major College Events, Good Move, Never say Never
-Another Boost to the constant Development and Economic Growth of Downtown Baltimore
Con's
-Why use the Current Site. You will lose an Arena for two years, which holds a lot of events, When you easily could have put it by Camden Yards, where parking is already Available.
-The Baltimore Blast will be homeless for two years. They are a Model Franchise and Deserve Better.
-Traffic, Another reason why I wish the Arena was by Camden Yards. Why does it have to be right downtown, the old site could easily be turned into a hotel, or office building, or Condos. And it is not like Camden Yards isn't a 5 minute walk.
Either way I am glad to see this city follow through with this, and it will certainly open many opportunities for Baltimore Sports and Music Fans.
