Alumni Report: New Contract for Floyd, Locals in the NBA

Gavin Floyd Signs Extension

Yesterday was a good day for Mt. St. Joe Alum Gavin Floyd. Gavin avoided arbitration and signed a 4 year $15.5 million extension with the Chicago White Sox. The 26 year old Floyd turned his career around last year by posting a 17-8 record with a 3.84 ERA.

The AstroCubiners are Coming to a Ballpark near You

Over the last 11 years, the Baltimore has supported their minor league baseball team the Orioles, who were a Major League franchise prior to 1998. Since the hiring of Team Executive Andy Macphail, Baltimore is in the Major Leagues once again, and their franchise has been named the AstroCubiners. Their team name’s origin comes from the words Astros, Cubs, and Mariners, the three teams Andy MacPhail USED to create the team.
