Ravens Preview

Hello Ravens fans, my name is Marco and I am the Ravens blogger for this site and this is my first entry of the season. There are a lot of unique story lines surrounding the Ravens this season; how quickly will the new coaching staff and players gel? Will we have secondary depth? Will Trevor Pryce revert back to his 2006 form and who will be our starting quarterback and will they remain that for the entire season? These questions can not be answered just by watching one preseason game, however there are 5 things that I believe will be important to watch tonight and here they are:

STANLEY CUP PLAYOFFS
Ravens trade down, then up, to draft QB Joe Flacco. Second round sees them select RB.

The Baltimore Ravens traded down from the eighth pick overall to Jacksonville's 26th overall slot. Their thinking appears to indicate that with Matt Ryan off the board they will trade down and select one of the lower rated quarterbacks. That proved to be accurate as the Ravens later traded up to 18th overall to select QB Joe Flacco from Delaware.

Steve McNair Retires

Ravens Quarterback Steve McNair has announced his retirement today after 13 seasons in the NFL, 11 with the Oilers/Titans and 2 with the Ravens. "It was a difficult decision, in your mind you feel like you can compete, but the battle between your mind and body is not going to work in the NFL." When asked about his career Steve Quoted, "I wouldn't Change a thing!"
