On Monday Night, the 2nd Annual Crab Bowl took place on a frosty cold night at Towson University's Johnny Unitas Stadium. Once again it was a great display of the best football players in the state of Maryland, with the squad from DC holding to a 24-21 victory over Baltimore, taking a 2-0 series lead. After watching the game and evaluating the tape, I am going to take a look at some of the players that turned in impressive performances.

Joppatowne keeps undefeated season, title hopes alive in 20-13 win over Alleghany

The undefeated Joppatowne Mariners knew that tonights contest with Alleghany County powerhouse the Alleghany Campers would probably be their toughest matchup of the year. On the line was a 4 year unbeaten streak at their home field and, more importantly, a trip to next Saturdays 1a state championship game at M&T Bank Stadium. All year long three things have been the staple to this Mariners team: rb Epe Henriques, qb and team leader Dominic Harper, and their defense. Tonight was no different as all 3 played a major part in the Mariners hard fought 20-13 victory over the Campers.

Special teams leads the way in Joppatownes 12-7 victory over North Harford

Coming into tonights showdown for 1st place in the UCBAC Chesapeake division North Harford(5-1) and Joppatowne(6-0) ranked one and two, respectively, in total offense. Heading into halftime of tonights game it looked as though neither team would ever score. North Harford, which averaged 406 yards on offense coming in, was held to just 69 yards in the first half. The conferences leading rusher, Brandon Bayer, was held to just 21 yds. on 5 carries.
