ESPN's Andy Glockner writes an
update(http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/bubblewatch?id=71) on the bubble teams and what those teams need to do to dance. Nobody wants to dance with the fat lady (NIT)...its all about the hot blonde (March Madness).

Tonight's game versus Clemson is a must win in my eyes. With a win tonight, the Terps will have beaten a team with 20 wins (Clemson) and of course the away game at #1 North Carolina.

Tonight is the night for James Gist. Give him the ball all night. Vazquez!!!Get under control and stop shooting the ball like your Larry Bird. If everybody stays within their game, the Terps have home court and can handle the Clemson Tigers. This win and a loss to Virginia gives us an entrance to the dance.

What's it going to take in your opinion?

We need a victory on Sunday. The guys know they are a better team than the Cavaliers. Terps need to win by 10 so that they show the committe they can win games on the road that they should win. In the ACC, must get to at least the second round. First round loss= first class loser.

Bowie did play big, scoring 12 points in 12 minutes. Why didn't he play more? I think a stat man needs to tell Gary the trends during the game to help make the winning adjustments.

I still can't believe that

I still can't believe that we allowed that to happen. Someone really needs to sit Greivis down and tell him that he really needs to stop trying to do everything on his own. Although I love the emotion that he plays with, there is no middle ground with him. He's either totally out of it or he is all over the court, trying to take over the game. He needs to realize that he's not always going to be the hero.

Bench Play

One of the few bright spots for me was the play of Adrian Bowie and Jerome Burney off the bench. For once having no bench scoring wasn't our achilles heel and I think that Bowie showed a lot of moxie out there last night. He can be a very solid player off the bench, perhaps a Drew-Nicholas type that can play multiple guard positions if he works on his willingness to take jump shots.

Burney showed a lot last night, especially with leading the team in blocks, considering Gist and Boom were out there too. He needs to work on his upper body strength, as many of Mays and Booker's baskets came at his expense. That being said, he looks like he has a solid feel for the low post on both ends of the floor and I'm excited to see how he's going to grow the next few years. Should help to put him with either Dupree or Gilchrist next year..

Leadership

The problem with this team is their is no true leaders. Juan Dixon and Steve Blake would never let this happen. With those guys there was always fight till the end. Take out the Duke 10 point lead disaster, they still played hard. Maryland needs a player who will make smart decisions with the game on the line. Whenever we need a big shot, a guy who is smothered takes one. Which also leads me to believe they need a true point guard to find the open man. Virginia game must win, Opening ACC game, must win, next game must win.

Up 20 in the second half. Lose by 3. Unreal. General Greivis had 7 formal turnovers. Then add in his 5 missed three pointers and we're up to 12. Hayes needs to play point and Greivis needs to slide to the three spot(SF). This team needs to work on how to close out games and intelligent decision making therein.

Ouch

That was really painful. Remember when we were down 20 to the Tar Heels about 12 years ago in Chapel Hill and came back and won? We talked about that for years, we just gave Clemson that win. Granted we aren't as good this year as UNC was then, but Clemson pretty much sealed a NCAA birth this year with this win. Olive Purnell has arrived, look for Clemson to be very competitive for a while. The terps better beat up on Virginia, and make a nice run in the ACC tournament. I know I won't take off work to see them host Old Dominion in an empty Comcast Center.

I'm so frustrated, this team

I'm so frustrated, this team is so inconsistent! How a team can knock off the #1 team in the Country away and lose huge leads to Tech and Clemson at home is beyond me. There is only one solution, Bring Back the Rock and Roll song, (Hey You suck). The Comcast Center hasn't been the same without it. At least the Orioles will be good!

What a colossal melt down, Up 20 in the second half. When they miss the tournament they can look at this game and the two Virginia Tech Games and know why!
