We are still deciding on our football player of the Year, We would love to hear your input.
Here are the finalists
Nick Elko QB, Arundel- 3091 yards passing, 43 TDs, 5 FGs
Michael Campanaro RB/DB River Hill- 30 TDs, 1,884 rushing yards, 3 INTS
Tavon Austin RB/DB Dunbar- 39 Total TDs, 2,553 rushing yards, 4 INTS
Brandon Johnson-Farrell, WR/DB Arundel- 23 Recieving TDs, 27 total TDs, 1394 yards Recieving, 3 INTs
TAVON AUSTIN ALL THE WAY!!!
This year Tavon broke the career TD record, came within 800 yards of the career rushing record, and was a pivotal part of the highest score in the history of the state championship record. He had 6 INT's, threw for a touchdown, and caught 3 TD passes, and rushed for over 2000 yards. Most of which came within the first half of the games he played. Imagine if he had been allowed to play the entire game in each meeting, his stats would have been off the charts! Tavon undoudtedly demonstrated that atleast this year, he was the most prolific player in high school football, and on his team in their run for a second state championship. This is the essence of what the player of the year award stands for, which player not only had the best stats, but also who had the most impact on his team, and the sport as a whole. Tavon answered all of those questions, and not to take anything away from the talented finalists, but Mr. Austin has been doing this since he was a freshmen. If he doesn't get Player of the Year for 2007, I don't know what else he could do to earn it, except maybe play quarterback, receiver and runningback all at the same time. Oh wait, he's done that!

mvp
There were a lot of talented players this year But I think Tavon is nice.
Tavon Austin Hands down, out
Tavon Austin Hands down, out of respect for other teams, Dunbar had to limit his touches, and he still had 39 Total TDs. I saw him get 3 TDs in the beginning of a game several times, Plus they wanted to work on their passing game as well! He might be the best player to ever come out of Bmore.
Michael Campanaro should be player of the year
We played RH in the playoffs and I will tell you that he is what makes that team run. He cuts off half the field in terms of passing against them or sweeping to his side. On Offense we keyed on him but he was to fast and when we over keyed on him it opened up stuff for the other players. On special teams, he controlled the field position of the game.
Ashby Chrstian
Dematha's ashby christian should be the player of the year he ran for 133 yards against good counsel in the washington catholic athletic conference title game
best player
addison jr is the best QO ripped arundel and showed that montgomery f-ball dominates
QO didn't rip Arundel, they
QO didn't rip Arundel, they got domninated four 3 1/2 quarters, and caught some breaks in the end
Elko desverves it, he took
Elko desverves it, he took Arundel farther than they've been in a long time... great stats, one of the better QB's I've seen in HS, good kicker as well
I say Campanaro, he really
I say Campanaro, he really shut people down as defensive back while running all over the place on offense! I think he was the best overall football player
