High School Football Recap
When you are in High School there is nothing more important that the Friday night football. It is the place to see and be seen. The game is the social event of the week. Everyone knows the players and is looking forward to watching them play. The players are like celebrities in their hometown. The cheerleaders get a chance to show off their stuff as well. The boys in the stands wish they were bigger, faster, stronger, and the girls in the crowd secretly wonder what it would be like to be a cheerleader.
Those young people don’t realize it yet, as a matter of fact it will be a few years before they realize it, but it really doesn’t matter. Sure it is fun while it lasts, but these events do not carry the weight that you felt when you were young. You lived or died to whether you won the game. It was devastating if you lost. You felt like your world would end, but guess what it doesn’t/didn’t. For those of you in the stands, no one in your future is going to care if you played or not. If anyone does care it is only because they themselves played and they peaked in High School, so they will forever be stuck there.
There is nothing wrong with playing High School football. As a matter of fact, it is great if you can play. It is fun and a great experience for anyone to have. Just remember in a few years it is over and you will indeed move on, so don’t put to much of your life into it. Do your best, but don’t beat yourself up over any of it. Enjoy high school while you are there and High School Football will be a fond memory.
