The New York Yankees are getting thrown around by the Orioles.
When was the last time you saw a Yankees fan get upset about losing to the Orioles? I have been seeing them get upset all week. Adam Jones is showing off his skills to the league. A grand slam homerun put an emphasis to their victory on tuesday.
After having a horrid start to the post-All Star game, the Orioles have put together three good wins verse solid teams. If you go back to the original posts earlier this year, most of us said that the Orioles would play around .500. I had my doubts, but some were right about this team. They play tough and don't quit. Hey, even the manager puffed on a fat stogey at the press conference.
If you don't think its time that the O's start going on a little streak, they just ended a Sunday losing streak. Whether the team went to church or the team offered a free trip, it was the first time since early April that the O's won a Sunday game. Imagine that, time to celebrate. A win verse the Angels-quietly the best team in baseball- and two straight wins verse the Yankees is showing off their young talent and showing us fans that if they just had a couple more pieces in their pitching staff that the AL EAST would be even more competitive.
So I bring up this question, what are the Orioles in most need of?
Should they play this year out and then get a top of the line starter?
Camden Yards next year is going to be sizzling with fun if one or two moves are made.
O's
More starting pitching which is still down on the farm. Maybe buy a pitcher and a bat in the off-season.
